Downtown is nothing if not musical this week. You may not have seen a lot about this benefit concert at The Missing Link, 504 Texas Street, on Saturday, but it will be well worth the $5 admission charge. There are eight bands playing beginning at 1 pm. All the bands are performing gratis to help friend John Winchel who is battling Covid. Your two-fer is right here, great bands + a great cause!
GloryFest ’22 is cranking it up at The Lot, 400 Crockett Street, starting at 1. Put on by The Cuddy Family Foundation for Veterans, GloryFest will feature eight acts, food trucks, door prizes, vendor booths, and more. To be eligible to win a door prize, please bring three cans of food for our drive to support The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. The title sponsor for GloryFest ’22 is Red River Range and net proceeds from our event will be used to establish a food truck business that will employ veterans. Performers include: Daniel Ainsworth (classical guitar), K-Tea Callahan (ethereal soul), The Aidan Fitz Group (jazz ensemble), Scott Cook (guitarist), Anna Lee’s Revolver (southern rock), Soul Grooves Live (soul/funk), Ole Whiskey Revival (country), and Victory Position (rock). The Downtown Mercantile Market has live music throughout their two-day run, April 23 and 24, at 1110 Texas Avenue.
In addition to the music, enjoy art vendors, shopping for vintage wares, food trucks and a Fatty Arbuckle’s satellite bar! The event is free admission.
